Quick & Easy ways to Encourage Engagement

While powering through your marketing and content efforts, it is important to keep your audience in mind. You want to make sure that you are not only providing value through your creative messages and posts, but you also want to give your followers the opportunity to interact with your content. The simplest and easiest way to achieve this is through Calls to Action or CTA. More often than not, companies forget that making CTAs clear is hugely important in order for them to hear back from their audience.

Essentially a call to action is when you (the brand) ask your followers to do something, whatever that may be. It could be as quick as asking to click a link, sign up for a newsletter, download a file, or even like your page. Now, creating effective CTAs varies on the platform you are using. This could be your website pages, blog posts, social media and even video content. CTAs can vary based on the media you use on a daily basis, meaning that you should plan your message accordingly. The most popular method of a CTA would be asking your audience to click a link you provide. This could be to a specific product, service, contest or landing page.

The reason link CTAs are so popular is because they don’t take up much time. Remember, time is valuable to your audience so simplifying their experience is a huge benefit to both parties. Always look to provide beneficial content to your audience. They are more likely to interact with something that can directly solve their problem. They need to know what is in it for them.

Other methods of generating engagement, especially on social media, would be to ask your followers for their thoughts, opinions, questions and even concerns. Adding an extra clear message at the end that entices your audience members to post a reply is a great idea. Not only do you get to hear back from them, but you can see whether you can improve any particular area of your business or what part is performing well. Throughout your engagement efforts, bear in mind that as long as you encourage your audience to do something that provides value, you will see results. Be clear, concise and consistent.
